Governance and Business Schools
Do European Business Schools really care about good or bad governance in SMEs? Are the students interested in this topic? Do they – the students- really know what is it about?
From experience, even business owners do not know what is it about and which are the valuable benefits of good governance. Any different opinion?
Yes, it’s a shame. From my own experience no business school cares about SME’s. But to be fair with practice, some SME’s owners do care about values. They are not aware of it but instinctively they do apply. Personally I thing there is no good or bad governance but just “right governance”. Some of those values I got it from Emil Küng, HSG, back in the ’70′s. Would recommend: “Wege und Irrwege in die Zukunft” (ISBN 3512005225).
Yes, I agree. Dr. Martin Hilb, also from the University of St. Gallen, wrote extensibly about this topic. I recommend reading “New Corporate Governance” (ISBN 3540213996).
I also co-wrotre a book in this topic for Pearson Mexico (in Spanish) “Administración de Pymes” (ISBN 9786073206785).
I appreciate any other contribution to this topic.
